Italian-born Australian fashion designer and businesswoman Carla Zampatti has congratulated the dispensing team that sold Specsavers’ 30 millionth pair of spectacles.
The 30 millionth pair of glasses to be sold since Specsavers launched in the Australian and New Zealand market 10 years ago was a Carla Zampatti frame and was sold at Specsavers Miranda East in New South Wales. To commemorate the milestone, Carla met with the Specsavers Miranda East staff, including team member Amber Aucherlonie who sold the frame.
Commenting on the experience, Amber said, “Myself and a few frame stylists from the Miranda and Miranda East stores were lucky enough to meet with Carla Zampatti for high tea at the InterContinental Hotel at Double Bay, in honour of the 30 millionth frame being dispatched from the lab.
“We dined, chatted and celebrated this incredible achievement by Specsavers Australia & New Zealand. Carla was incredibly kind and eager to learn about our past experiences and how they influence the attitude we take into frame styling. I’m eager to see the launch of her new frames soon!”
Carla said, “I have been working with Specsavers for a number of years and I am delighted that a Carla Zampatti frame ended up being their 30 millionth pair of glasses. What an impressive milestone for Specsavers and one that is testament to their connection with Australians, their understanding of the importance of fresh and contemporary design in eyewear and their strong collaborations with designers.”
The Specsavers Aus / NZ store network continues to generate huge order volumes resulting in just shy of 4.8 million jobs leaving Specsavers’ Melbourne Glazing Services facility in 2017 alone, with a staggering 143,600 orders being dispatched during a single week in January this year, eclipsing the previous record by some distance.
Specsavers Aus / NZ Head of Manufacturing Ian Lindsey said, “We’re continuing to invest in the supply chain across the entire estate to meet the increased volume in an effort to support both our partners and growing consumer base with a high-quality product.”
Carla Zampatti launched her exclusive eyewear collection with Specsavers in October 2017.
