Batemans Bay Cricket club are the happy recipients of the Specsavers Community Champion Program.
Each year, Specsavers holds the Community Champion Program to find Australia’s community cricket champion. The program, which is supported by Specsavers’ partnership with Cricket Australia, recognises a special community member at a local cricket club – and the winners get to enjoy a cricket clinic at their club with some of Australia’s best players.
The community of Batemans Bay were the very deserving winners this year after a tough summer battling the Australian bushfires.
On March 12 cricket legends, Nathan Lyon and Ian Healy joined the junior team to run a cricket clinic. Lyon and Healy helped the junior team develop their cricket skills and taught them a few tips and tricks.
Specsavers was proud to make an additional $5000 donation to the club to help them and the community continue to rebuild.
