Specsavers is seeking adventurous optometrists to add to our mobile optometry team and service stores across Far North QLD. If you love the idea of a flexible lifestyle but prefer the peace of mind of guaranteed work, a highly remunerated fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) role could be perfect for you.
About the role:
- $150,000 package and 5 weeks’ annual leave (plus sick / carer’s leave)
- CPD allowance and all registrations paid
- Two consecutive days off in a week for rest and the opportunity to explore your local area
- Guaranteed work with rosters communicated at least one month in advance
- Networking opportunities
- Robust induction at Specsavers Support Office
With the ability to experience a diverse demographic of patients and see a wide variety of cases, a FIFO position allows you to explore Queensland with the opportunity to mix work and leisure. You’ll also be working with the latest equipment including OCT and feel as if you’re truly making a difference by working for a company on a mission to transform eye health across Australia and New Zealand. Click on the video below for a flavour of a day in the life of a FIFO optometrist.
Specsavers Recruitment Services will take care of all your paperwork and logistics, with a dedicated consultant to manage all your diary, travel and accommodation. We’ll also support you with a mentor / manager who is equally invested in your career, professional development and job satisfaction.

Transform eye health with Specsavers
Specsavers is on a clear mission to transform eye health in Australia and New Zealand – and we would like you to join us on that mission. Our equipment and technology strategies, our close working relationships with key eye health stakeholders, and our major investments into optometry advancement and dispensing qualifications all contribute to a singular purpose – to transform the eye health of Australians and New Zealanders.
If you’re concerned at the 50% undiagnosed glaucoma cohort and the under-indexing of diabetic retinopathy screenings; if you’re worried that available in-store technology isn’t being used on every patient due to extra fees and charges; and if you’re alarmed at the under-investment in professional dispensing programs and technology – then we urge you to talk to us about how you can make a genuine impact at Specsavers.
