Australian singer and style icon Kylie Minogue officially unveiled her debut eyewear collection, exclusive to Specsavers, at an event held in Sydney on 7 March 2017.
The launch event was attended by more than 60 VIP guests and featured E! Australia host Ksenija Lukich as master of ceremonies. Among those present were three Specsavers team members: Tom Pinhorn and Courtney Gray from Specsavers Highpoint in Australia, and Siobhan Raisbeck from Specsavers Wellington CBD South in New Zealand. The three won the opportunity to personally interview Kylie as part of an internal Specsavers competition celebrating the collection’s launch.
The guests were treated to a fashion show displaying the 25 optical frames and four sunglasses in the range. These were designed around three core themes: modern classics, reinvented vintage, and subtle bling.
After the show, a glitter cannon heralded the arrival of the pop sensation herself, looking radiant in the KYLIE 13 frames from her collection.
Speaking about the range, Kylie said, “I have an extensive collection of glasses comprising of hundreds of pairs. It’s crazy, I know! I looked back at my favourite specs from over the years when I first began working on the collection, for added inspiration.”
She said she had also taken inspiration from style icons she admired, and classic shapes and styles.
“Expressing yourself with your glasses provides a fantastic opportunity to change up your look, which I personally love to do, so having a real mixture of styles is definitely something that works for me.
“Designing the glasses and collaborating with Specsavers has been a fabulous experience,” she added.
The Kylie Minogue Eyewear collection will be available in Australian and New Zealand Specsavers stores from 9 March 2017.
