Specsavers has announced it will host its first one-day conference for optical dispensers from late July in key locations across Australia and New Zealand.

The inaugural Specsavers Dispensing Conference (SDC) will be held from 23 July to 2 August 2017 in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Auckland.

The event is open to certified optical dispensers working at Specsavers, to student optical dispensers who are currently studying to obtain the Certificate IV in Optical Dispensing qualification, and selected non-Specsavers optical dispensers, due to limited seating capacity. As a formally accredited dispensing development day in New Zealand, the Auckland event is, however, open to all local optical dispensers.

The day will incorporate keynote speakers and interactive workshops with leading industry experts who will share information and experience with delegates. Delegates will be able to ask questions and debate topical subjects with the world-class panel of dispensing experts through an open forum. A celebration will also be held at the end of the day to congratulate Specsavers’ newly qualified optical dispensers.

“We believe that now is the right time to focus on the ongoing development of our optical dispensers and dispensing opticians in ANZ – via the SDC.”

The SDC is the latest in a range of industry-leading professional development events Specsavers has launched, including the Specsavers Clinical Conference in ANZ and the Professional Advancement Conferences in Europe.
