New Specsavers award for customer service announced
Specsavers has announced the launch of a new team member award, The Dame Mary Perkins Award for Outstanding Patient Care, as part of the launch of the Specsavers Clinical Conference for 2021.
SCC, which runs this year from May until October, always includes the announcement of the annual Doug Perkins Medal winners. This year for the first time we will also recognise our team’s efforts in providing great customer care with The Dame Mary Perkins Award for Outstanding Patient Care.
While the Doug Perkins Medal recognises consistently high standards of clinical excellence and patient care for partners or individuals, the Dame Mary Perkins Award for Outstanding Patient Care will recognise a store team or group of individuals within a store who have delivered an exceptional act of patient care in 2020 — going above and beyond in one or more of the following categories:
- customer service
- clinical care
- clinical leadership
- or teamwork to benefit patient care.
The award will be open to all ANZ stores, and there will be two winners announced – one in Australia and one in New Zealand.
To be eligible stores must have been ‘Open for Care’ in 2020 and be able to demonstrate clear evidence of positive impact to patient or customer and how the act exemplified one or more of the Specsavers’ behaviours.
And, unlike the Doug Perkins Medal, which is based on clinical and benchmarking data, the Dame Mary Perkins Award for Outstanding Patient Care will be based on nominations from within the Specsavers network. Individuals, teams or an entire store are eligible for nominations, as are and both retail and optometry team members and partners.
Specsavers team members can make a nomination by filling in the Nomination Form or emailing anz.optometrydepartment@specsavers.com.
