Specsavers Australian and New Zealand stores recorded collective sales of over $20 million per week for three consecutive weeks during the December 2016 / January 2017 trading period, underlining the store partners’ continuing growth.

By comparison, it was only four years ago, in December 2012, that collective store sales of $12 million in a single week was achieved for the first time.

Records tumble
In the last five trading days of 2016 alone, more than 100,000 pairs of glasses were purchased by customers, while a total of more than 4.4 million pairs of spectacles were dispatched from Specsavers’ Port Melbourne manufacturing facility over the course of the calendar year.

The Port Melbourne facility is one of the largest optical manufacturing plants in the southern hemisphere. Since it was established in Australia in 2007, the facility has dispatched well over 20 million pairs of spectacles to Australian and New Zealand customers, and is expected to exceed the 25 million mark this year.
