The 2019 dates and locations have been set for Specsavers’ two largest professional development events in Australia and New Zealand – the Specsavers Clinical Conference (SCC) and Specsavers Dispensing Conference (SDC).

Specsavers Dispensing Conference
SDC, which is in its third year, is a one-day event delivered in a roadshow-style format across Australia. It will be held from 4 to 9 August 2019 in Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney. The Australian conference complements Specsavers’ 2018 sponsorship of the Association of Dispensing Opticians of New Zealand’s (ADONZ) annual dispenser development event.

SDC is open to all qualified optical dispensers – both Specsavers and non-Specsavers – and student optical dispensers who are currently studying to obtain the qualification. The program will include practical and theoretical workshops presented by experts in the field.

Specsavers Clinical Conference
SCC will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre for the third year running, with the eighth edition of the highly attended event to take place from 7 to 8 September 2019.

A series of presentations will be delivered by optometry and ophthalmology experts over a full two-day program, accompanied by an exhibition.

More details on both events, including speaker programs, will be announced in the coming months. Subscribe to the Spectrum ‘News & Case Studies’ newsletter to receive event updates.
