This year’s Specsavers Clinical Conference (SCC) will be jam-packed with new developments, foremost of which is the move to two full days of CPD/CD content.
Now in its seventh year, SCC has become one of Australia and New Zealand’s most well-attended clinical conferences. In 2018, it will take place from 8 to 9 September 2018 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, with the theme ‘Transforming Eye Health’.
The popular Clinical Education Sessions held on the Saturday have been extended from a half day to a full-day program of optometry-led education sessions, increasing the conference to a full two days. Combined with three CPD/CD articles that will be made available to SCC7 delegates, the goal is to get as close as possible to delivering a full year’s worth of CPD/CD points over the two days – the most Specsavers has ever offered at SCC.
The event will also feature an expanded exhibition as the focal point for the two days, along with an ‘SCC Welcome Dinner’, which replaces the traditional cocktail and canapés event. At the dinner, two very special new awards will be presented and a new optometry-relevant fundraising element will be introduced.
More details, including the speaker program, will be announced in the coming months.
As in previous years, Specsavers is offering 20 free ticket/flight/accommodation packages to non-Specsavers optometrists located in Australia or New Zealand who are looking to attend SCC7.
