Specsavers is excited to announce the launch of their 355th store in Nerang, QLD, which opened its doors on Wednesday, September 1st. Nerang was selected as the ideal location because although Specsavers is represented in and around the Gold Coast, there was nothing directly west servicing Nerang.

It is anticipated that most patients will come from the boundary drawn around Nerang. This area had low accessibility to affordable eyecare in general, which will be a perfect opportunity for locals to receive these services now.

We also welcome two new Partners to the Specsavers family – Jaron Leigh (Optometrist Partner) and Sophie Finato (Retail Partner).

Jaron started working at Specsavers in 2014 as an Optical Assistant in Indooroopilly while studying for his Optometry degree at Queensland University of Technology. Following his graduation in 2016, he joined the Specsavers Glendale team as a graduate optometrist where he completed the Graduate Program then in 2018, he went on to complete Pathway. During the same period, Jaron relocated to the Gold Coast with his wife Elspeth (Specsavers Broadbeach JVP) and initially worked in Specsavers Helensvale. However, more recently he’s been a locum across the Gold Coast.

Sophie joined the Specsavers Mackay store in 2012 and worked as an Optical Dispenser before relocating to Melbourne in 2016 where she became an Assistant Store Manager at Melbourne Central, followed by Store Manager at Melbourne Central. While completing the Pathway Program, Sophie became Store Manager at Melbourne CBD East. Sophie has since relocated to the Gold Coast and has been the Store Manager in Elanora since 2019.

The Nerang store is also excited to be offering audiology services to the community, with the Audiologist due to be up and running to provide affordable hearing services to locals in the second week of October. This location will bring a valuable service to the area which has an older demographic.
