Specsavers is continuing to grow its optical network, announcing an additional four locations to open in Australia.

This announcement comes quickly on the back of five new locations that were announced in early October, bringing the current figure to nine new stores already in the works for the first half of 2021.

The ability to continue to expand our optometry network means we can provide ever greater access to eye care services across both Australia and New Zealand.

We now have a strong plan to expand our network of stores and take our systematic and measurable approach to eye care and eye health management to a greater number of people.

More store locations of course mean we will also create new JV Partnership opportunities for optometrists and optical dispensers/retailers – not to mention new jobs and connections with local communities.

The new store locations include:

  • Alice Springs, NT
  • Mt Isa, QLD
  • Parkes, NSW
  • South Melbourne, VIC

The previously announced locations include:

  • Seaford, SA
  • Port Lincoln, SA
  • Warwick, QLD
  • Newcastle and surrounds, NSW
  • Belgrave, VIC

Specsavers expects to announce further new locations on an intermittent basis over the coming months. Alongside the new stores’ initiative, we also have an exciting program for expansion in existing stores and these will see many more new ownership opportunities created.

As always, the stores will be operated under our JVP (joint venture partnership) franchise structure and this structure brings with it a raft of benefits that are set out in our partnership prospectus.
