The Specsavers Graduate Recruitment Team has been busy hosting their annual Specsavers Information Evenings across ANZ over this past month.

The Information Evenings are the first major intervention that the team have with final year Optometry students, and is a chance to showcase what Specsavers can offer to these students for their graduate career.

While the team always looks forward to meeting and starting to build those great relationships with our students at these events, it was safest to adopt a virtual format for some of our Universities.

They were, however, lucky enough to be able to host the University of Melbourne and University of Auckland events in a face-to-face setting.

The students heard from a number of speakers across the following topics;

  • Specsavers mission to transform eye health
  • Specsavers Clinical Placement Program
  • Specsavers Graduate Program & Offer

Each event was supported by a member of the Optometry Department who delivered the transforming eye health message and also had a graduate from that University join the chat to the students about their individual experience and journey with Specsavers.

The evenings wrapped up with a Q&A panel, giving students the opportunity to ask any questions that they had about Specsavers and what a career with Specsavers could look like for them.

The Graduate Team will start holding individual meetings with these final year students to discuss how they can best support them with securing their first role as a newly qualified Optometrist with Specsavers.

The Graduate Team looks forward to meeting the rest of the final year students in person over the coming months at various on-campus events.
