About the company…

Specsavers is a multi-award-winning optometry and optical retail business with more than 380 stores across Australia and New Zealand and an active customer base of more than six million people. We are strongly focused on providing the highest level of optometry and dispensing care in all our stores.

Locally, our equipment and technology strategies, our close working relationships with ophthalmology and various eye disease stakeholders all contribute to improving the detection, referral and diagnosis rates for eye diseases and a range of eye conditions.

We’re on a clear mission to transform eye health in Australia and New Zealand and we are keen to have enthusiastic and passionate newly qualified Optometrists to join us on that mission.

Joining the Specsavers Geelong team will give you the opportunity to work across three different stores, two in Geelong CBD and one in Colac, with a company car available when rostered on in Colac. You will work alongside highly trained and motivated teams with a mix of qualified dispensers, optical mechanics, optometry students and experienced optometrists. All practices are extremely well equipped, including OCTs, a topographer, Medmont VF, pachymeters, and a slit-lamp camera.

The mentors have a combined 56 years’ experience in clinical practice. Across all three stores you will be exposed to a wide variety of ocular pathology, which will allow you to actively use your therapeutics training. The demographic at the Colac store covers all ages from 2-90, skewed to over 60s with lots of pathology management. Ryrie St sees a wide range of patients and has a good contact lens base, including complex RGP fittings such as for semi-sclerals, hybrids, KC and OrthoK. Geelong Baycity sees a younger demographic than Colac and Ryrie St, with lots of specialised contact lens fittings.
