With more than 3 in 100 Australians over 49 living with glaucoma and 50% of cases going undetected in the population, glaucoma continues to be a key focus for Specsavers’ Transforming Eye Health Strategy.
In the video above, Specsavers Director of Optometry, Dr Ben Ashby discusses Specsavers’ strategy for increasing detection rates and the positive eye health outcomes for those with glaucoma, as well as some key findings to date.
Detecting glaucoma in a patient is complicated and early stages of the sight-threatening eye condition have historically been difficult for optometrists to detect. This is why Specsavers is working with key industry partners and has introduced technology to improve detection and referral rates and improve clinical outcomes for our patients.
