10 June 2022

Specsavers Eastgardens graduate optometrist Zeinab Fakih was recognised amongst her student contingent at UNSW’s recent School of Optometry and Vision Science Annual Prizegiving and Graduation Function.

Zeinab was awarded the Specsavers Prize for Overall Excellence in the Bachelor of Vision Science Master of Clinical Optometry Program, an award that is given to the graduate that achieves the best overall weighted average mark in the program.

Specsavers Eastgardens Optometrist Partners Patricia Lianos and Jacintha Chen say Zeinab is a very promising optometrist, consistently delivering optimised patient health outcomes within their community.

“We’re so proud of Zeinab for achieving this prestigious award. In our practice, she’s not only built trusted relationships with her patients, leading to enhanced health outcomes, but she also has a highly effective clinical process,” says Patricia.

Jacintha adds, “Zeinab is very patient-focussed and an excellent example of the value that graduate optometrists can bring to clinical teams. After working with Zeinab and seeing first-hand the way she works, we’re not surprised that she has won this award and is the academic year prize winner.”

Zeinab says the award means a lot to her.

“This award reflects the endless work I have put into my academic career and I am extremely grateful to everyone who has been a part of my journey. I hope to continue offering my best efforts in all my future endeavours,” she says.

Specsavers would like to congratulate Zeinab on her success and thank her and the many graduate optometrists in this year’s contingent for their important roles in contributing to improving the eye health outcomes of the people in their communities.
