First ever New Zealand Graduate Induction

On Monday 7 and Tuesday 8 March, Specsavers welcomed our newest New Zealand optometry graduates from our 2022 cohort. The inaugural graduate induction was presented online over two days, delivering a robust program providing graduates with a comprehensive introduction and the best start at Specsavers.

Over the two days, the group was equipped with information and advice to support them as they commenced their professional careers, including tips on patient communication, working within a team, and establishing an effective clinical routine.

Through presentations from the Specsavers leadership team, the graduates learned about Specsavers’ vision of providing affordable, high-quality eye care to everyone and our commitment to clinical excellence using state-of-the-art ophthalmic equipment and ongoing professional development.

The group learned about Specsavers’ sustainability, encompassing people, community, the planet, and changing lives through better sight and hearing. They also learned about Specsavers’ strong patient and community focus through our Community Programs, Volunteering opportunities and fundraising initiatives in partnership with The Fred Hollows Foundation.

The Graduate Optometry Team delivered a commendable event, led by Natasha Fernandes (Graduate Optometry Development Manager ANZ). Over the two days, the team mapped out Specsavers’ world-class business alongside a clinical induction while demonstrating what to expect during the two-year Graduate Program.

The next Graduate Induction will take place in February 2023.
