Queensland Fire and Emergency Services Assistant Commissioner Andrew Short paid a visit to Specsavers Capalaba this week to say thank you for donations received as part of the Specsavers Community Program.

The Specsavers Community Program initiative enables Specsavers stores to support local charities of their choice, as well as our national charity of choice, The Fred Hollows Foundation.

Mr Short presented Capalaba partner Maree Townsend with a Certificate of Appreciation on behalf of all the Queensland stores that helped raise funds for the Queensland SES.

Specsavers stores including Browns Plains, Carindale, Mt Ommaney, Capalaba, Townsville Domain, Gympie, Townsville Willows, Townsville Aitkenvale, Sunnybank, and Emerald all selected the Queensland SES as their charity for fundraising activity.

A spokesperson for the Queensland SES the organisation was thrilled for the support, especially as due to COVID-19 other donations to the organisation had reduced.
