SCC virtual series popularity an all-time high

1 July 2021

On Wednesday, June 30, Specsavers hosted its third SCC virtual session, with more than 600 people livestreaming across Australia and New Zealand.

Presenters Dr Kate Reid, Opthalmologist from ANU Medical School and Dr Loren Rose, specialising in paediatric opthalmology from PersonalEyes, delivered insightful presentations on Managing Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension and Paediatric Eye Emergencies.

Dr Reid talked about the risk factors, signs and symptoms of IIH, and gave many valuable clinical pearls for optometrists to help them diagnose these patients and refer them appropriately.

Dr Rose presented on a series of paediatric eye emergencies, ranging from corneal infections to neoplasia, and gave information on differential diagnoses and urgency of referral for each condition.

The event series will run throughout May until October, with all events being livestreamed across Australia and New Zealand, including in-person events planned for Auckland, Sydney and Brisbane.

The next SCC session will be held live in Auckland for New Zealand professionals to attend and livestreamed across Australia and New Zealand on July 14 at 7.00pm NZT / 5.00pm AEST.
