The Specsavers Graduate Optometry Team has been busy hosting their annual Specsavers Information Evenings over the past two months across Australia and New Zealand.
The Graduate Optometry Team manage the clinical placements and recruitment of undergraduate students into the two-year industry leading Specsavers Graduate Program, and the subsequent development and pastoral care of graduates undertaking the program.
The Graduate Optometry Team have had a succession of record-breaking years with the number of graduates choosing to commence their careers with Specsavers, and the Information evenings are the first major touchpoint annually which kickstart recruitment for the year ahead.
The team have held Information Evenings for Flinders University, UNSW, University of Melbourne, University of Western Australia, QUT, Deakin University, and the University of Auckland with record attendance across all events as more and more students consider careers with Specsavers.
The Information evenings provide an opportunity for the team to network with final year optometry students and showcase what Specsavers has to offer by hosting a presentation on who we are as a company and what they can expect should they choose to join our industry leading Graduate Program and commence their optometry career with Specsavers.
Each event was supported by team members from the Clinical Services Department who delivered the Changing Lives Through Better Sight message, highlighting the contributions Specsavers is making to improving eye health in local communities through early detection of avoidable blindness.
The evenings involved plenty of food, drinks and networking with Specsavers representatives, and wrapped up with a Q&A panel, giving students the opportunity to ask any questions they have about what a career with Specsavers could look like.
The Graduate Team look forward to continuing to build relationships with and supporting these final students over this next year.
