The City of Sails shine for SCC Auckland
On Wednesday, July 14, Specsavers hosted its second SCC live event at the Sofitel Hotel in Auckland, with more than 170 people attending in-person and livestreaming across New Zealand.
This year’s second in-person event included an outstanding speaker line-up, including Dr Shenton Chew, consulting ophthalmologist at Auckland Eye. Dr Chew delivered an engaging talk on collaborative care for glaucoma, discussing the epidemiology, diagnosis, and management of primary angle closure glaucoma. Dr Chew offered optometrists practical tips for investigating the anterior angle, as well as guidance on the management (including referral for surgical interventions) of patients with angle closure spectrum disease.
We also heard from cultural strategist, Andrew Baker from 3Degrees. Andrew treated us to the fascinating history of the Māori culture and the trade economy and took us on a journey of how he built his cultural transformation practice by transforming Air New Zealand, the first corporation in New Zealand to successfully embrace a Māori strategy across the business.
The event series will run until October, with all events being livestreamed across Australia and New Zealand. The next virtual event is scheduled on Wednesday August 11, 7.00pm AEST.
