The Specsavers Graduate Recruitment Team has been busy hosting their annual Specsavers Information Evenings across ANZ over this past month. The Information Evenings are the first major intervention that the team have with final year Optometry students, and is a chance to showcase what Specsavers can offer to these students for their graduate career. While the team always looks forward to meeting and starting to build those great relationships with our students at these events, it was safest to adopt a virtual format for some of our Universities. Recycling for Sight

Specsavers support office team members ditched their desks and donated a day to Lions Recycle for Sight last week, helping to process thousands of pairs of pre-loved prescription glasses and sunglasses kindly donated by Specsavers customers nationwide. The glasses underwent a three-step process to ensure that only the best glasses would be sent to people in need overseas. Volunteers first ensured any scratched, damaged or unacceptable glasses were culled, then the glasses were both machine and hand-cleaned before being measured through a lensometer, categorised and boxed according to prescription. SCC 2021 Online Series is back with a Glaucoma Week special event 

To recognise World Glaucoma Week, the Specsavers Clinical Conference 2021 Online Series kicked off on Tuesday 9 March with a special event webinar.  Hosted by Dr Joseph Paul from the Specsavers Optometry team, nearly 500 people joined the event that featured a live presentation from Dr Katherine Masselos, a glaucoma specialist in both public and private practice in NSW, as well as a video from Glaucoma Australia CEO Annie Gibbins.  Dr Paul opened the webinar with a look back at Specsavers' glaucoma journey over the past five years.
